Map shows accumulation over each 24 hour period, allowing for snow melt.

Welove2ski's weather maps are among the most accurate on the internet. They're produced exclusively for us by the Swiss forecasting service meteoblue, and are based on cutting-edge Numerical Meso-Scale Modelling (NMM). It's complex stuff. Only a handful of organizations - such as NOAA (America's national forecasting service) - are capable of running NMM over areas larger than a single country; and the technology allows us to make predictions which distinguish between between mountain peaks and valleys, and also different types of ground cover such as forests, lakes, and rock.

We run two forecasts daily, updated every morning. The first is our five-day snow forecast for the Alps, which predicts accumulated snowfall over each of the coming five days, and takes into account snowmelt as well as snowfall within each 24 hour period.

The second is our three-day general weather forecast for the Alps. This forecasts cloud cover, rainfall and snow by breaking each day into a three-hour block. So when you see, for example, 25cm of snow predicted on a map, that means 25cm of snow will be falling in just three hours.

We hope you enjoy using them. We do!
